Privacy policy

Draft for professional review. This page describes how the website is built and configured. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer and is not a legal guarantee.
VTX (“we”) operates in Canada. We collect as little personal information as we can and use it only to respond to you and run our consultations. This policy explains what we collect through this website, why, who processes it on our behalf, and how long we keep it.
Information we collect
- Booking details — when you book a consultation: your name, business email, company, a short description of your challenge, and any optional details you choose to add (website, industry, company size, phone, software, timeline, budget).
- Calculator estimates — only if you tick “Include these estimates in my consultation”. They are added to your booking notes. Otherwise calculator inputs never leave your browser.
- Contact form messages — your name, business email, company, message and optional phone number.
- Usage statistics — aggregated, anonymous page and event counts (for example, “calculator used”). No cookies, no cross-site tracking, and no calculator values are recorded.
- Security data — your IP address is processed briefly to block spam and abuse. It is stored only as a one-way hash for up to 10 minutes.
Why we use it
- To schedule and prepare for your consultation and to reply to your messages.
- To understand, in aggregate, which pages and tools are useful so we can improve the site.
- To protect the site and our forms from spam and abuse.
What we don’t do
We do not sell personal information, use it for advertising, or add you to a mailing list without your separate consent.
Booking provider
Consultations are scheduled through Cal.com, which processes your booking details, sends confirmation and reminder emails, and manages rescheduling and cancellation. Its scheduler is embedded on our booking page and may use storage that is strictly necessary for it to work.
Analytics
We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused service that does not use cookies or collect personal information. Statistics are aggregated and cannot identify you.
Cookies
This website does not set its own cookies. Embedded services (the scheduler, and a bot-protection check on our contact form) may use cookies or similar storage that are strictly necessary for them to function. If you choose to share calculator estimates, they are held in your browser’s session storage and deleted when you close the tab or complete a booking.
Third-party processors
- Cloudflare — website hosting, security and bot protection (Turnstile).
- Cal.com — consultation scheduling and booking emails.
- Resend — delivers contact form messages to our inbox.
- Plausible Analytics — anonymous, aggregated website statistics.
Some of these providers may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States and the European Union. When that happens, the information is subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.
Retention
We keep consultation and contact information for as long as needed to respond and, if we work together, for the duration of the relationship. Enquiries that don’t lead to an engagement are deleted within 24 months. Anonymous statistics may be kept indefinitely.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, or withdraw your consent and ask us to delete it, subject to any legal obligation to keep it. Contact us through our contact form.
Person responsible
The founder of VTX is responsible for the protection of personal information. You can reach them through our contact form.
Changes
We will update this page if our practices change and revise the date at the top.
